BIM Electrical Engineer

About the role
As an electrical engineer at Talent 360, you will be responsible for modeling and coordinating electrical and low-current systems to fabrication and installation level. You will ensure that all models and technical documentation are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements, while supporting seamless installation and construction processes. You will also be responsible for delivering verified as-built electrical documentation with complete and accurate asset data.
Key responsibilities
Develop the electrical model from LOD 300 to LOD 400 covering power distribution, lighting, containment, earthing and lightning protection, and all low-current systems (fire alarm, CCTV, access control, data, BMS, PA, nurse call)
Model containment to installation detail: cable trays, ladders, trunking, conduits with actual fittings, bends, reducers, tees, supports, hangers, threaded rods and anchor points
Model panels, switchgear, busbar risers, transformers, generators, UPS and distribution boards using manufacturer-specific families with correct dimensions, clearances and door swings
Verify and model maintenance and operating clearances, working space in front of panels, and pulling/access space at trays and manholes
Produce electrical shop drawings: power layouts, lighting layouts, containment routing with levels and dimensions, single line diagrams, panel schedules, riser diagrams, section details at congested zones
Perform cable routing, cable sizing coordination and cable schedules; model cable fill and confirm tray capacity
Coordinate sleeves, penetrations and fire-stopping with structural and architectural teams; issue BWIC requirements
Conduct lighting design verification and produce lux calculations (DIALux / Relux) aligned with the modelled fixture layout
Lead electrical clash detection and resolution against mechanical, structural and architectural models; maintain priority routing hierarchy
Extract quantities for cables, containment, fittings, accessories and equipment for BOQ, procurement and material take-off
Support material submittals by updating families to reflect the approved manufacturer's actual dimensions and specifications
Deliver LOD 500 as-built models with verified routing, installed equipment serial numbers, circuit references, test and commissioning data, and O&M linkage
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in the relevant engineering or architecture discipline
5–8 years in electrical BIM with installation-level modelling
Working knowledge of ISO 19650 (Parts 1 & 2), BEP, MIDP/TIDP, CDE workflows
Autodesk Revit (advanced), Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD
Autodesk Forma for Construction — formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and before that BIM 360. Candidates with experience on any of the three names have the relevant skill; the platform, workflows and data are unchanged
Clash detection, clash matrix management, and issue resolution tracking
Custom family creation and parameter management; Dynamo scripting is an advantage
Ability to read and interpret contract documents, specifications, and consultant drawings
Technical office experience: shop drawings, material submittals, BOQ / quantity take-off, RFIs, as-built documentation
Professional syndicate / engineering board registration where applicable
English proficiency for technical correspondence
