Commercial Manager
Responsibilities:
Manage the Design and Build contract with the client: administer the contract, issue and manage variations, and protect CDL's contractual rights and obligations Own the project budget and cost-to-complete forecast; update the commercial report monthly and present to the Project Director Administer all subcontracts: prepare subcontract packages, manage tendering, recommend awards, and administer claims and variations Review and approve all subcontractor payment applications in coordination with the Senior Quantity Surveyor Manage the project variation register; ensure all variations are identified, valued, agreed, and instructed correctly before work is executed Manage cash flow forecasting for the project; ensure payment applications to the client are issued on time and to the correct value Lead the final account process with the client and all subcontractors Provide commercial advice to the Project Director on all contract, procurement, and risk matters Produce the monthly commercial report for the Project Director and CDL Managing Director
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field; membership of NIQS or RICS is preferred Minimum 14 years of commercial experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years as a Commercial Manager on major projects in Nigeria Strong knowledge of Nigerian construction contract law and standard forms of contract Experience administering Design and Build contracts and managing multi-package subcontract programmes
