INSTRUCTOR

POSITION OVERVIEW

Ascent Learn seeks experienced instructors to teach live courses across our offerings in Technology, Entrepreneurship, and specialized skills. This is a hybrid delivery role, instructors must teach BOTH online (live, synchronous) and physical classes at our Ogba hub, Lagos.

Technology Skills School

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in your subject area (work experience, consulting, or business ownership)
• Subject matter expertise (not just certification; real-world application)
• Proven ability to teach or train others (previous students, mentees, teams, or organizations)

Technical Requirements (Non-Negotiable):

• Experience teaching online (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar) — COMPULSORY
• Experience teaching in-person — COMPULSORY
• Reliable internet (10+ Mbps) for online sessions
• Access to professional workspace (home office or venue) for online delivery
• Ability to travel to Ogba, Lagos for physical classes (schedule TBD)

Soft Skills:

• Clear communication (English, Pidgin English, or both)
• Patience with diverse learner levels
• Responsiveness to student questions and concerns
• Ability to give constructive feedback
• Commitment to learning outcomes (not just content delivery)

YOUR ROLE

During Course Delivery

1. Teach live, synchronous sessions — online (Zoom/Google Meet) or physical (Ogba hub)
2. Create or adapt curriculum — use Ascent's templates and frameworks; customize for your cohort
3. Assess student work — grading, feedback, progress tracking
4. Answer student questions — real-time during class and async via email/WhatsApp (within 24 hours)
5. Track attendance & engagement — report weekly to operations
6. Deliver on time — start/end sessions on schedule
