Floor Tech

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Daily cleaning : Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors in resident rooms, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas

Infection control : Follow proper disinfection procedures, use PPE, and adhere to healthcare infection prevention guidelines

Room turnover : Clean and disinfect discharged rooms promptly for new admissions

Maintenance : Inspect floors for damage, report repairs, and assist with minor maintenance tasks

Equipment use : Operate floor buffers, burnishers, carpet cleaners, and other cleaning equipment per manufacturer guidelines

Qualifications

Education : High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare or housekeeping experience preferred

Skills : Ability to read/write basic instructions, operate cleaning equipment, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varied conditions

Attributes : Patient, courteous, reliable, and able to follow safety and infection control protocols

Working Conditions

Physical : Prolonged standing/walking, bending, lifting, repetitive motions, exposure to chemicals and infectious environments

Environment : Indoor facility with potential for odors, temperature extremes, and noise
