About the Role
Ampd is looking for an experienced and motivated Quality Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of our energy storage products. Based remotely in China, you will work closely with our contract manufacturing partner, suppliers, and Ampd's engineering teams to deliver products that consistently meet our quality standards.

What You'll Do
Partner with our contract manufacturer to ensure Ampd products are manufactured to our quality standards.
Collaborate closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues throughout the production process.
Analyse production, outgoing acceptance test, and field performance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Lead structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D and other quality improvement tools.
Define, implement, and continuously improve quality control plans and inspection checkpoints across:
Incoming Quality Control (IQC)
In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)
Product Acceptance Testing (PAT)
Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA)
Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering teams to resolve production and field issues.
Provide quality engineering input during the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure manufacturability and product robustness.
Apply statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making to support quality improvements and identify systemic issues.
Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturing partners while communicating clearly and effectively.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or quality engineering.
Experience in the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or broader energy storage industry is highly desirable.
Proven experience working within manufacturing environments and collaborating with suppliers and contract manufacturers in Mainland China.
Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems and production quality control.
Hands-on experience establishing and improving quality control processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
Experience defining and implementing inspection and quality checkpoints for IQC, IPQC, Product Acceptance Testing, and OQA.
Strong root cause analysis and structured problem-solving skills using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA, or similar quality tools.
Solid understanding of statistical methods and data analysis to identify trends, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
Ability to analyse both manufacturing and field performance data to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Self-motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Either be based in Changzhou or willing to travel to Changzhou frequently.
Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin.
