Job Description & Skills Required
Wonderfoods Unlimited Company T/A Donnelly Fresh Foods is seeking 1 Quality Assurance Officer to support the Quality Department in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance within a BRC-certified fresh food manufacturing environment.
Main Duties Include:
- Monitor and maintain compliance with BRC, HACCP, GMP, Bord Bia, and food safety standards throughout production.
- Review, update, and maintain product specifications, quality documentation, and traceability records.
- Conduct internal quality audits and assist in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Inspect and approve incoming raw materials and finished products against required specifications.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality, hygiene, and food safety procedures.
- Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support staff training in food safety, quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Maintain accurate quality records and assist with regulatory inspections and customer audits.
- Work closely with production and management teams to ensure products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food legislation and company quality management systems.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of a Level 7 qualification (Ordinary Bachelor's Degree) in Food Science or an equivalent field.
- Experience in a Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing or similar business is essential.
- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Training Provided
Food Standards Auditing. HACCP Introduction or HACCP Implementation & Verification. Other training courses relevant to the role.
Hours: 39 hours per week Salary: €36,605 annually Hourly Rate: €18.05 per hour Permanent, Full-Time Position
