Senior Performance Test Engineer | Contract
£450-£550 per day | Outside IR35 | ASAP Start | Initial 3 Months | Remote We're supporting a client delivering a large-scale digital platform and are seeking an experienced Senior Performance Test Engineer to join an Agile delivery team. This is a hands-on role focused on designing, executing, and optimising performance testing strategies across cloud-based applications and API-driven services. You'll play a key role in ensuring systems are scalable, resilient, and capable of delivering excellent performance under varying levels of demand. Key Skills Required Strong commercial experience as a Performance Test Engineer Expert-level experience with K6 (essential) Strong experience working within Microsoft Azure environments (essential) Proven experience of API Performance Testing , including load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing Experience testing applications built on cloud-based architectures (essential) Ability to analyse performance bottlenecks across APIs, applications, and infrastructure Experience creating and maintaining performance test scripts and frameworks Understanding of performance engineering principles and best practices Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines Strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to present performance findings and recommendations Desirable Skills Experience with Gatling , JMeter , or LoadRunner Azure monitoring and observability tools including Azure Monitor and Application Insights Experience testing asynchronous workflows and event-driven architectures Exposure to distributed systems and microservices-based environments Knowledge of performance monitoring, diagnostics, and capacity planning Contract Details Contract: 3 months initially Start: ASAP Rate: £450-£550 per day IR35: Outside IR35 If you're an experienced Performance Test Engineer with strong K6 and Azure expertise , we'd love to hear from you.
