Firmware Upgrade Technician

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia Employment Type: Contract

About the Role: We are looking for 2 Firmware Upgrade Technicians to support a telecom equipment upgrade project at a customer warehouse in Jakarta. The selected candidates will be responsible for upgrading firmware on approximately 1,200 telecom radio units by following detailed technical instructions and procedures provided by the engineering team. Full documentation, training materials, firmware files, and remote technical support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities: Perform firmware upgrades on telecom radio units according to provided procedures. Connect equipment to computers and execute firmware installation steps. Verify firmware versions and ensure devices boot properly after upgrades. Maintain accurate records of completed, pending, and failed units. Identify and report technical issues to the remote engineering team. Handle and maintain equipment safely.

Requirements: Minimum Diploma (D3) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum 1 year of relevant internship experience. Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Linux commands. Conversational English communication skills. Basic understanding of hardware, electronics, computer systems, or networking. Good documentation and reporting skills. Must currently be based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Must have legal eligibility to work in Indonesia.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in IT Support, Hardware Support, Electronics, Networking, or Telecom Equipment. Previous exposure to firmware installation, software flashing, or device configuration.
