Daily tasks

• You will:
• Take technical ownership of the frontend architecture and guide its evolution as the product grows.
• Design scalable solutions and lead key technical and architectural decisions, balancing long-term maintainability with business and delivery needs.
• Work hands-on primarily with Angular while contributing to Django/Python backend development when needed.
• Define and promote frontend engineering standards, and support the team through code reviews, mentoring and technical guidance.
• Drive improvements to code quality, architecture and technical debt while keeping the application actively developed and delivered.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and potential blockers early, and work with the team and project stakeholders to address them.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Copilot, and Cursor to streamline software development, debugging, testing, and refactoring, while ensuring high standards of code quality, architecture, security, and maintainability.
• Ensure high software quality through appropriate testing strategies, including unit, integration and end-to-end (e2e) testing.
• Maintain a client-focused approach and engage in regular communication with the client and project stakeholders.
• Work in the Central European Time zone (CET), with availability during core CET business hours.
• Occasionally travel to Norway or Poland for in-person meetings and events.

Job Description

Join KOIA and work on a modern fintech platform built for the Scandinavian market. We are looking for a hands-on Senior/leading Angular developer (Angular + Django) to join a long-term project for our Norwegian client. We need an experienced engineer who can design, build and evolve scalable Angular applications, make complex technical and architectural decisions, and remain actively involved in development. You will take technical ownership of the frontend architecture , working hands-on with Angular while collaborating across a Django/Python backend. You’ll help shape how the application evolves as the product and its complexity grow, while guiding engineering standards and supporting other experienced developers with technical direction.

Project

You will work on an Accounting Practice Management System , co-owned by three major accounting firms. Once fully onboarded, the platform will serve 5,000+ daily enterprise users .

The client’s engineering team is intentionally small (5-6 experienced developers) and focuses on building a better product than competitors with significantly larger engineering organizations. Their advantage comes from excellent engineering practices, pragmatic decision-making, and high-quality software.

Your qualifications

You might be the perfect match if you are/have:

8+ years of commercial software development experience, with extensive hands-on experience in frontend development

Very strong expertise in Angular (17-22) and TypeScript

Proven experience designing, building and evolving large-scale Angular applications in production environments

Strong expertise in modern Angular architecture, including Signals, RxJS, state management, dependency injection and component architecture

Proven ability to make complex technical and architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs and take ownership of their long-term impact

Experience designing scalable and maintainable frontend solutions that can evolve alongside complex business requirements and growing products

Hands-on experience providing technical leadership through code reviews, architectural guidance, refactoring initiatives and mentoring other experienced developers

Strong hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Copilot or Cursor to accelerate software development, debugging, testing and refactoring.

Ability to integrate AI-assisted development into engineering workflows while maintaining full ownership of code quality, architecture, security, testing and maintainability.

Strong Python development skills

Experience in Django 4.x, Django REST Framework, Django Filters and Celery

Experience writing unit tests using Pytest

Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis

Good understanding of microservices architecture

Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred, AWS Fargate is a plus)

Good understanding of CI/CD workflows (CircleCI is a plus)

Experience working with Git and GitHub workflows

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Very good English communication skills (B2+/C1)

Nice-to-have

Experience introducing architectural improvements or leading the gradual modernization of an existing production application

Experience designing distributed systems

Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)

Experience working in fintech or product companies

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
