Construction Project cost

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial and cost management activities of our engineering projects, particularly in the semiconductor and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage project tendering, cost estimation, budgeting and preparation of commercial proposals.
2. Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
3. Prepare competitive quotations and conduct cost analysis for engineering projects.
4. Monitor project costs, budgets, expenditures and profitability throughout project execution.
5. Manage project contracts, subcontractor agreements and commercial negotiations.
6. Prepare and submit progress claims, variation orders (VO), final accounts and project settlements.
7. Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors and subcontractors on commercial and contractual matters.
8. Identify commercial risks and implement effective cost control measures.
9. Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and negotiate pricing and contract terms.
10. Prepare financial reports, cost forecasts and project commercial performance reports.
11. Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements and relevant industry standards.
12. Support management in strategic planning and business development activities.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in engineering project commercial management.
3. Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, industrial or M&E engineering projects is highly preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of project tendering, cost estimation, contract administration and final account settlement.
5. Experience in managing large-scale engineering projects and coordinating with main contractors and clients.
6. Good understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications and BOQ.
7. Strong analytical, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Good command of written and spoken English.
