Product Technical Designer

Accountabilities: The Product Technical Designer will create and manage technical product training experiences that enable users to effectively understand, configure, and troubleshoot solutions. The role requires strong instructional design skills, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to align learning initiatives with product goals.

Design and develop technical product training materials, including eLearning courses, workshops, simulations, and other digital learning experiences.

Apply backwards design and outcome-based development principles to create training solutions focused on measurable learner outcomes.

Partner with subject matter experts, product managers, and internal stakeholders to identify knowledge gaps and translate complex product functionality into effective learning content.

Develop clear learning objectives, assessments, and activities aligned with product workflows and business requirements.

Measure training effectiveness through formative and summative assessments and use evaluation insights to continuously improve learning solutions.

Apply learning evaluation frameworks to assess training impact and optimize learner engagement.

Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, timelines, documentation, and version control.

Update training materials in alignment with product releases, enhancements, and evolving customer needs.

Leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to improve training development efficiency and learning experiences.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines instructional design expertise with technical product knowledge and the ability to collaborate across teams. This role requires experience creating engaging learning solutions, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping users succeed with technology.

3+ years of experience designing and developing learning solutions in corporate, academic, nonprofit, or similar environments.

Experience applying instructional design methodologies such as backwards design, outcome-based development, or comparable frameworks.

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field.

Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools, multimedia design techniques, and learning management systems.

Experience using AI capabilities within learning or content development tools.

Ability to create measurable learning goals aligned with product workflows and business objectives.

Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and validate technical content.

Strong ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear and engaging learning experiences.

Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Curiosity and adaptability toward emerging AI technologies and digital learning practices.
