Backend Software Engineering Team Lead

Accountabilities Lead, mentor, and support a team of backend software engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and growth-oriented culture.

Provide technical leadership by defining software architecture, promoting engineering best practices, and maintaining high standards of code quality.

Contribute hands-on to backend development, designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.

Drive the full software development lifecycle, from technical planning and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

Conduct code reviews, provide constructive technical feedback, and coach team members to strengthen engineering capabilities.

Manage performance, workload allocation, career development, and regular feedback for team members.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality software aligned with business priorities and project timelines.

Continuously improve development processes, tooling, and engineering practices to enhance productivity, reliability, and delivery efficiency.

Requirements

8+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend technologies such as Java, Node.js, Python, Go, or similar languages.

At least 2 years of experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, performance management, workload planning, and technical leadership.

Strong expertise in designing scalable software architectures, distributed systems, APIs, and microservices-based applications.

Hands-on experience developing enterprise backend solutions using modern frameworks, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.

Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, code quality, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies.

Excellent communication skills in English, with experience collaborating effectively across remote and internationally distributed teams.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a passion for technology, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Ability to balance strategic technical leadership with active software development responsibilities.
