Group Benefits Specialist / Senior Specialist
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day administration of Medical and Life Insurance programs for approximately 10,000 employees.
Manage the full employee benefits lifecycle, including enrollment, additions, deletions, transfers, upgrades, downgrades, and terminations.
Coordinate with insurance providers, brokers, TPAs, and other benefits vendors to ensure smooth service delivery.
Monitor and follow up on medical and life insurance claims, employee inquiries, approvals, and escalations.
Review and validate insurance invoices, premiums, employee eligibility, and monthly billing statements.
Ensure accurate reconciliation between HR records, insurance enrollment data, and vendor records.
Prepare regular reports and analysis related to benefits utilization, enrollment, claims, premiums, and costs.
Support the annual medical and life insurance renewal process, including data preparation, utilization analysis, quotations, and negotiations with insurance providers/brokers.
Monitor insurance contracts, SLAs, policy terms, and service quality.
Analyze medical insurance utilization and claims trends and provide insights to management to support cost optimization.
Coordinate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and other internal stakeholders regarding benefits-related matters.
Ensure timely processing of employee additions, deletions, and changes and minimize discrepancies in insurance coverage.
Handle employee inquiries and complaints related to medical and life insurance and ensure timely resolution.
Develop and maintain accurate benefits databases and records while ensuring data confidentiality.
Support the implementation and enhancement of benefits policies and processes.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations related to employee benefits.
Prepare presentations and management reports highlighting benefits costs, utilization, claims trends, and key KPIs.
Participate in benefits projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Insurance, or a related field.
3+ years of relevant experience in Benefits, Compensation & Benefits, HR Operations, or Insurance.
Proven hands-on experience managing Medical and Life Insurance programs.
Experience managing benefits for a large employee population (8,000–10,000+ employees) is highly preferred.
Strong experience dealing with insurance companies, brokers, TPAs, and healthcare providers.
Strong knowledge of medical insurance administration, life insurance schemes, claims, eligibility, and policy management.
Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.
Experience with HRIS/ERP systems and employee benefits databases.
Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage high-volume transactions and work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
High level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
