Your tasks
Job description We are looking for line cooks to prepare food to Applebee's specifications and maintain stocked and clean workstations. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the Kitchen Manager with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Responsibilities
- Knowledgeable in safe handling practices when using sharp knives, utensils,
- Prepare food for service in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Complete a line check for their workstation
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume restaurant
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Answer, report and follow Kitchen Managers instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Ensure that food comes out in a timely fashion which meets company standards
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards, completing daily and weekly cleaning duties
- Previous experience cooking breakfast is an asset
Requirements
- Minimum 1-year previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role
- Comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Needs to be flexible to work day and night shifts during weekdays, weekends and holidays.
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent is required
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English; verbal and written
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to carry, lift, push and pull up to 34kg.
- Cooking: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification
- Food Safe Handler, SafeCheck, or equivalent certificate (preferred)
