Our client is a well-established Japanese main contractor with a strong portfolio of building projects across Singapore. Due to project expansion, they are seeking an experienced WSHO cum ECO to drive workplace safety, environmental compliance, and health standards across major construction projects.

Job Description:

  • Implement and maintain the Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Management System, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Monitor site safety performance through regular inspections, audits, risk assessments, and permit-to-work activities.
  • Conduct safety meetings, toolbox briefings, training programmes, and safety campaigns to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommend corrective actions, and monitor implementation to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with MOM, NEA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements, maintaining documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Liaise with government authorities, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams on workplace safety, environmental health, and regulatory matters.
  • Support environmental management initiatives, including vector control, environmental monitoring, and compliance with Environmental Control Programme (ECP) requirements.
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing site safety planning, worker welfare, emergency preparedness, and developer safety requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM.
  • Certified Environmental Control Officer (ECO) registered with NEA.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Good knowledge of the WSH Act, subsidiary legislation, environmental regulations, and ISO management systems.
  • Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Working days : 5 days work week Salary : Up to $7,000 and OT
