Qualifications:

  • Maintain professional boundaries in and out of the workplace.
  • Experience working with teenage youth.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture.
  • Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License.
  • Must pass Criminal Record Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Caring and compassionate attitude.

Duties:

  • Support youth in exploring career goals while identifying and addressing barriers to employment.
  • Be available to respond to client needs and requests where reasonable, in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a safe home environment.
  • Prep and cook for 10 or more youth.
  • Maintain an accurate daily log.
  • Plan fun and educational activities for teenage youth.
  • Support and guide the clients, teaching them responsibility as they transition into adulthood/independence.
  • Ensure nightly cleaning duties are complete.
  • Ensure major house cleaning duties are complete as well as normal everyday cleaning/chores.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Provide support and advocacy to the residents and clients of the YWCA.
  • Provide feedback to Manager regarding clients.
  • Provide feedback to the Manager on major issues and incident reports.
  • Attend to crises as they arise during non-office hours.
  • Contact the Supervisor/Manager in the event of a major crisis.
  • Prioritize work, attending to the most urgent needs of the clientele first.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Any other duties as requested;
