Position Details

Job Title: HGV Mechanic

Employer: Transway Fleet Solutions

Location: Unit 4D, Besser Drive, CO DUBLIN, D22 E6F8, Ireland

Reporting to: Operations Manager / Workshop Foreman

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, On-site

Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week. Monday to Saturday (some Saturdays required).

Salary: From €38,000 per annum (based on a 39-hour week).

Role Overview

Transway Fleet Solutions is seeking a full-time, permanent HGV Mechanic to inspect, service, repair and maintain HGV trailers and their systems to a high maintenance standard and in line with manufacturers' recommendations. The role is on-site and involves work across the full range of HGV trailer mechanical systems, including braking, axles, suspension and electrical.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • Inspecting, servicing and repairing HGV trailers to a high maintenance standard, including air braking systems, axles, brake systems, suspension systems and electrical systems.
  • Maintenance of HGV trailer axles, suspension, brake systems and bodies.
  • Fitting components to HGV trailer axles and bodies.
  • Retrofitting of components to HGV trailers.
  • Welding and basic fabrication, where applicable.
  • Basic electronics and wiring, where applicable.
  • Participating in all scheduled training as required by the company.
  • Contributing to the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest possible standard.
  • Maintaining a good level of housekeeping.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven mechanic or fitter background.
  • Ability to inspect, service and repair HGV trailers and their systems (braking, axles, suspension, electrical) to a high standard.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to complete delegated work to a high standard.
  • Availability to work full-time, Monday to Saturday (some Saturdays required).
