Data Lead - Financial Services Inside IR35: £600-£650 per day Hybrid - 2-3 dpw on-site in Stratford, London Mid-October start - 4 months initial
We are recruiting an experienced Data Lead to manage a team of three analysts supporting a major funds data programme within financial services. The role will oversee data analysis, Power BI dashboard development and analytical reporting across large, multi-source datasets, ensuring complex information is translated into clear business insight and supports data-driven decision-making.
Role responsibilities Lead and manage a team of three analysts delivering data analysis, dashboard development and reporting activities. Oversee the development and refinement of Power BI and Tableau dashboards, management information and analytical outputs. Analyse complex financial services datasets, including holdings, transactions, legal entities and regulatory reporting data. Guide the creation of integrated views of firms and entities using information from multiple data sources. Ensure analysis identifies relevant trends, concentrations, anomalies and potential risks. Improve data quality through validation, controls, data enrichment and ongoing assurance activities. Engage senior stakeholders to understand requirements, gather feedback and prioritise team activity.
Key experience and requirements Strong Power BI experience, including overseeing the development and refinement of dashboards, management information and analytical reporting solutions. At least five years' experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting or a related data role. Previous experience working with complex datasets within financial services is essential. Proven experience leading a small data or analytics team and delivering solutions within complex environments. Strong SQL and data-analysis skills across large, multi-source datasets. Experience using Tableau alongside Power BI would be beneficial. Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Athena and DynamoDB. Strong senior stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly.
