Our operations bring together globally manufactured equipment, customer-supplied components, local engineering and manufacturing activities, supply chain, logistics, integration, and testing. As our business grows, we are building the processes, teams, and operational capabilities needed to support increasingly complex industrial projects. We are seeking an experienced Rigging Manager to lead heavy equipment movement, lift planning, rigging operations, and yard activities at our Dallas facility. About the Role The Rigging Manager is responsible for safely and efficiently moving heavy, high-value equipment throughout our facility—from receiving containers and oversized freight off trucks to positioning equipment in production bays and loading completed units for shipment. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead our rigging and yard crews, plan and supervise lifting operations, coordinate contracted crane and rigging resources, and maintain the equipment, documentation, and safety standards required for reliable execution. You will work closely with Production, Logistics, and HSE to coordinate material movements with production schedules and shipping commitments. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands heavy lifting, plans every move carefully, leads confidently in the field, and holds people accountable to rigorous safety standards. Key Responsibilities1. Lift Planning & Execution Plan, coordinate, and supervise crane, forklift, rigging, and skidding operations for receiving, in-plant transfers, equipment positioning, and outbound loading. Develop and review lift plans, rigging configurations, equipment selections, and execution sequences for non-routine and critical lifts. Verify load weights, centers of gravity, designated lifting points, equipment capacities, site conditions, and other relevant factors before lifting operations begin. Ensure required lift plans, approvals, equipment inspections, and personnel qualifications are in place before work starts. Coordinate daily equipment movements with Production Foremen and Logistics to support production schedules and on-time shipments. Oversee receiving and unloading of containers, oversized freight, and heavy equipment, including condition verification and staging. Adjust lifting plans and resource assignments as operating conditions, priorities, or schedules change.

  1. Crew & Contractor Management

Lead, schedule, train, and develop rigging and yard personnel. Assign daily work, communicate lift requirements, and ensure crews understand their responsibilities and safety requirements. Manage contracted crane, rigging, heavy-haul, and skidding providers, including scope definition, scheduling, coordination, performance, and cost. Evaluate contractor proposals and invoices against approved scope and services performed. Coordinate in-house and contracted resources to meet operational requirements efficiently. Maintain current personnel qualifications, training records, and required certifications. Identify opportunities to strengthen internal capabilities, improve productivity, and reduce unnecessary contractor costs.

  1. Equipment, Yard & Material Handling

Maintain oversight of cranes, forklifts, rigging hardware, lifting attachments, and related material-handling equipment. Ensure required inspections, certifications, preventive maintenance, and equipment records are current. Verify equipment suitability and capacity for assigned lifting and material-handling tasks. Organize yard layouts, staging areas, equipment storage, and traffic routes to support safe, efficient movement. Prevent equipment damage, congestion, and unnecessary handling through effective staging and movement planning. Maintain accurate lift records, equipment inspection logs, maintenance documentation, and contractor records.

  1. Safety & Compliance

Establish and enforce safe lifting practices, exclusion zones, load-control procedures, and equipment operating requirements. Coordinate with HSE to maintain compliance with applicable OSHA requirements, ASME B30 standards, company procedures, and site-specific safety rules. Ensure lifts are conducted by appropriately qualified personnel using suitable, inspected equipment. Stop work when conditions, equipment, personnel, or lift plans do not meet established safety requirements. Lead or participate in investigations of lifting incidents, near misses, equipment damage, and unsafe conditions. Implement corrective actions and communicate lessons learned to prevent recurrence. Promote a culture in which planning, communication, and safe execution take priority over schedule pressure. Qualifications & Experience Required qualifications: At least 5 years of experience in rigging, crane operations, heavy hauling, or industrial material handling. At least 3 years of experience supervising crews in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or similar heavy-equipment environment. Demonstrated experience planning and executing lifts involving heavy, high-value equipment, such as electrical enclosures, electrical houses, transformers, skids, or large industrial machinery. Practical knowledge of lift planning, rigging hardware, load charts, lifting capacities, load control, and equipment positioning. Experience coordinating contracted crane, rigging, or skidding vendors. Ability to interpret equipment drawings, shipping documents, load weights, centers of gravity, and lifting points. Working knowledge of applicable OSHA crane and rigging requirements, including 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC where applicable, and relevant ASME B30 standards. Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate lift plans, inspection records, equipment documentation, and personnel qualifications. Clear communication skills and the ability to direct crews, coordinate contractors, and manage competing operational priorities. Ability to work on-site in a yard and active industrial production environment. Preferred qualifications: Current forklift and/or crane operator certifications, qualified rigger credentials, and signal person qualifications, as applicable to the work performed. Experience coordinating oversized freight, container unloading, heavy equipment staging, and outbound industrial shipments. Experience managing lifting equipment maintenance programs and contractor budgets. Experience improving rigging procedures, crew capability, and material-handling efficiency. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means establishing a safe, dependable, and efficient lifting operation that supports production and customer delivery commitments. Performance will be measured against agreed targets, including: Safety: No preventable lifting incidents, dropped loads, or equipment damage, supported by effective planning and hazard controls. Production support: Equipment movements completed in line with production requirements and shipping schedules. Equipment readiness: Required inspections and maintenance completed, with lifting equipment available and fit for service. Contractor management: Effective control of external rigging and crane costs, scheduling, and performance. Crew development: Personnel properly trained and qualified for their assigned responsibilities. Operational efficiency: Improved staging, yard organization, resource utilization, and material movement. Performance targets will be established with leadership and reviewed monthly. What We Offer Annual compensation starting at $90,000, with final compensation based on experience and qualifications. Health insurance. Paid time off. An opportunity to lead and improve heavy-equipment movement and rigging operations in a growing industrial business. Direct collaboration with plant leadership, Production, Logistics, and HSE. The opportunity to strengthen internal capabilities and help build scalable operational processes. The Person Who Will Succeed in This Role You have hands-on experience moving heavy, high-value equipment and understand that successful lifting operations begin well before a crane is positioned or a load leaves the ground. You are disciplined in your planning, confident directing crews, and comfortable coordinating with external contractors. You can manage a changing production schedule without compromising safety, and you understand how a delayed equipment move can affect the entire operation. You take ownership of equipment readiness, documentation, crew development, and cost control. You are visible in the field, communicate clearly, and are willing to stop work when a lift is not properly planned or conditions are unsafe. If you are an experienced rigging professional ready to lead a team, strengthen lifting operations, and make a direct impact on a growing industrial business, we encourage you to apply.
