You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Expeditionary Warfare Weapons and Energy Systems Department (JX), Experimentation and Assessment Division (JXR), Range Branch (JXRN) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $138,370).

Major duties

  • You will be a Range Control Officer (RCO) at Camp Atterbury and OTA.
  • You will have oversight control/responsibility over multiple Range Safety Officers (RSO), visitors, project leads, engineers and technicians during daily operations.
  • You will demonstrate an extensive in-depth technical knowledge of all programs/projects/systems including explosive and range safety within JXRN to be able to capitalize on the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of these programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 grade equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering leadership and oversight during range operations to ensure personnel and tests adhere safety standards for the effectiveness and productivity of the programs.
