Logistics Supervisor

Monitoring maintenance activities of infrastructures, management of non-medical stocks and equipment according to MSF standards

Ensuring the check and follow-up of facilities under the line manager's supervision through daily visits to the facilities and reporting any anomalies or problems, evaluation of the rehabilitation needs and following up minor building re-habilitation work according to supervisor's instructions; checking that premises observe security norms and moni-toring the consumption of mechanical and electrical vehicles/machines/devices

Planning together with the line manager the required checks and maintenance activities of energy systems/set-up according to MSF standards

Coordinating and leading the logistics team under his/her responsibility which includes daily supervision, monitoring of the quality of work and the definition of each person's task, drawing up their working schedules; organizing and leading team meetings; participating in the recruitment of team personnel and attending logistics meetings and ac-counting for his activities

Ensuring the vehicle fleet maintenance which includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles according to MSF standards and Instructing and monitoring drivers on correct driving habits and standard checks

Managing and following up orders which includes collecting logistics orders coming from different departments or health facilities; drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures in force; providing technical sup-port to the storekeeper, makes local purchases according to MSF supply procedures and ensures reception condi-tions of freight or arriving material as well as the organization and setting up of materials before its shipment

Ensure the safety and security of facilities (access control , fire safety, electrical safety, occupational safety ) through daily presence and promptly report any issues or anomalies to the supervisor. Promptly inform the line manager of any incidents or issues.

Checking the maintenance of the clinic and office spaces and ensuring that domestic waste is correctly discarded

Checking and ensuring the maintenance of MSF premises and facilities, as well as the general water supply, electrical, walls, ceilings ect. and security conditions. In this sense, making inspection visits to assess the rehabilitation needs of facilities.

Planning, coordinating, supervising and monitoring on a day-to-day basis the implementation of the supply activities in the project as specified by the line manager, ensuring compliance to MSF standards, protocols and procedures.

Receive and store orders and deliveries according to the established system, ensuring continuous stock availability

In conjunction with the supply department in coordination, performing physical inventory in accordance with the frequency previously defined. Following up stock levels with regards to alarms thresholds, stock out and expiry dates.

Assisting the line manager with preparation of the stock reports

Controlling stocks limited access to authorized personnel and ensuring doors and other exits are secured. Immediately informing the line manager of any problems arising in the course of the work, particularly with regard to damage, loss, attempted break-ins or theft in the warehouse

Responsible for the management of the Watchmen (roster, leaves, etc)

Education Essential secondary education and formal technical training

Experience Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar positions

Experience in managing teams

MSF and/or other NGO experience is an asset

Relevant work experience in hospital settings is an asset

Languages Essential: Fluency Arabic and English

Knowledge Essential: Computer literacy

Skills Driving licence

Job Conditions: Location: Cairo, Giza.

Contract type: Fixed-term Contract – Full-time (working hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm)

Please note that the salary is not negotiable, and that previous MSF experience will be taken into account for salary calculation.
