Technician- Department of Pharmacy

Reporting To Head of Department Job Purpose Assist in formulating, reviewing and maintaining standard operating procedures for use in the workplace (Laboratories). Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Setting up, demonstrating, Imparting, Teaching, Guiding, and Assessing Practicals in microbiology, biotechnology, pharmacognosy, and pharmaceutical analysis.
2. Inventory management of consumables and equipment for practicals.
3. Market survey for Laboratory consumables and Equipment.
4. Quality assessment of procured Laboratory consumables and Equipment.
5. Tidiness and custody of the pharmacy laboratories and their equipment. And
6. Care and functionality for the pharmacy laboratories and their equipment.

Required Qualifications An Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Technology – Microbiology, or Biology, or Bachelor of Science Technology – Biology, or Microbiology, or Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, or Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, or Bachelor of Science in Biology, or Equivalents. Experience At least 3 years’ relevant work experience Skills/Competences i. Customer Care; ii. Ability to communicate precisely and concisely; iii. Analytical skills; iv. Proficiency in using machines and computers. Tenure of Appointment 4-year contract Age Limit APPLICANTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED FIFTY FIVE (55) YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION
