Laboratory Assistant (Post Mortem Attendant)

Your tasks

Reporting To Head of Department Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Clean and disinfect the post-mortem tables and floor on which the post-mortem examination is performed.
2. Clean and disinfect the equipment after use.
3. Prepare and arrange the tools used in the post-mortem examination.
4. Maintain the equipment and instruments used in the PM house.
5. Receive carcasses for post-mortem examination and maintain case logs.
6. Assist during the prosection (dissection) of carcasses.
7. Dispose of the remains of the carcasses by incineration and empty the incinerator.
8. Assist the pathologists, technologist with curation and archiving of teaching specimens.
9. Assist with the preparation of practicals and practical examinations.
10. Work with the Sanitary Assistant (Cleaner) to keep the whole environment clean and free of vermin, cob-webs and other waste.
11. Assist students to carry out their assignments within the premises.

Requirements

Required Qualifications i. Uganda Certificate of Education ii. At least a credit in science subjects Tenure of Appointment 4-year contract Age Limit APPLICANTS FOR SHOULD NOT EXCEED 55 YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION
