Accountabilities: As a Senior Sensor Simulation Engineer, you will own the technical evolution of sensor simulation capabilities, with a primary focus on radar modeling and validation. You will combine physics-based approaches, software development, and technical leadership to improve simulation fidelity and support the advancement of autonomous technologies.

Define and drive the multi-quarter technical roadmap for radar, lidar, thermal, and other sensor simulation capabilities, identifying key fidelity improvements and strategic priorities.

Build physically accurate sensor models using modern C++ within real-time simulation environments, including radar signal behavior, RF propagation, Doppler effects, multipath, antenna patterns, and raw sensor outputs.

Develop validation frameworks and methodologies to measure simulation accuracy against real-world sensor data, improving models through data-driven analysis.

Model challenging environmental conditions such as rain, snow, wet surfaces, low visibility, and other factors that impact sensor performance.

Establish scientific standards for sensor simulation quality by applying rigorous testing, measurement, and validation practices.

Collaborate with perception, machine learning, product, and engineering teams to translate real-world sensor challenges into prioritized simulation requirements.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers working on sensor simulation projects.

Leverage AI-assisted development tools and research workflows to accelerate engineering productivity and improve technical outcomes.

Communicate technical strategies and recommendations across engineering, product, leadership, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong sensor physics expertise with practical software engineering experience and the ability to guide complex technical initiatives. You should have experience building simulation or computational physics systems and be comfortable operating at the intersection of research, engineering, and product development.

Proven experience developing simulation, sensor modeling, or computational physics software used in real-world applications.

Strong foundation in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline, with the ability to translate scientific concepts into working software.

Deep knowledge of radar systems, RF modeling, signal processing, electromagnetics, or related sensing technologies.

Experience with sensor physics across one or more domains, including radar, lidar, thermal/infrared, or electro-optical systems.

Demonstrated ability to validate simulation models against measured data and analyze accuracy, errors, and model limitations.

Strong programming experience in modern C++, with the ability to work effectively in complex, performance-sensitive codebases.

Experience providing technical direction, defining strategies, and influencing engineering decisions.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business stakeholders.

Experience using Python, Git, CI systems, ray tracing, GPU computing, or real-time rendering technologies is a plus.

Preferred experience includes autonomous vehicles, robotics, aerospace sensing, ADAS, commercial sensor simulation, thermal modeling, or real-time simulation engines.

Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and workflows to improve productivity is preferred.

Benefits:

Competitive base salary range of $155,000 - $175,000 USD , based on experience, qualifications, and skills.

Fully remote position within North America with collaboration aligned to PST working hours.
