The Role: Lead Shipper

Availability: Full-time with an ability to work mornings, evenings, overnight shifts and occasional weekends.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Lead Shipper is responsible for traffic control and dispatching of shipments from our distribution centre. The main duties will be to ensure that all deliveries and shipments are planned and prioritized safely and efficiently. Working in Distribution, this role focuses on delivering and maintaining a high level of service to our customers by providing the freshest available product and maximizing overall fulfillment. Your core RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure safe operations in the yard and dock area

Direct vehicles to the appropriate loading docks

Visually inspect shipments to comply with transportation regulations

Ensure paperwork is correct and accompanies the correct shipment

Greet and direct transportation drivers

Ensure proper and accurate handoff of information between shifts

Act as point of contact for carrier drivers

Monitor the daily dispatch plan, highlight any delays, and partner with operations on solutions

Deliver excellent levels of customer service to internal and external clients

Able to work alternate shifts, weekends, and overtime when required

Organize shipping area to avoid congestion

Give feedback in the moment to staff members

Train staff members on distribution procedures

Use Mechanical Handling Equipment to load and unload skids

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Current Lush employee

Able to perform all required Distribution Associate duties

Able to do physical work for 8-hour shifts, on your feet, and lift 50 pounds

Capable of physical activities such as standing for long durations, bending down, pulling, and pushing

Able to operate basic warehouse equipment (picking carts, handheld scanners, pump-trucks, etc.)

Confident with basic mathematics, ability to count, including addition and subtraction

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Exceptional organizational and coordination skills

Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual and dependable

Comfortable with reading, writing, and speaking English to communicate with peers and leadership on all platforms (i.e. in person, via email, via Google/Teams chat)

Comfortable providing and receiving feedback

Commitment to abide by and oversee health & safety regulations

Commitment to abide by and oversee our quality and good manufacturing practices

Comfortable safely navigating MHE regularly

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Customer service focused

Basic Proficiency with ERP systems (AX, D365)

Basic Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

Basic proficiency with Google programs such as Gmail, Chat, Meet

Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Able to work morning, afternoon, and overnight shifts and some holidays, overtime, and weekends

Preferred:

Previous experience as a Lush Yard Person (seasonally or core)

Previous experience as a Lush Lead Shipper (seasonal or core)

Previous experience within the LUSH distribution environment

Fully trained and certified on loading equipment/machinery

Valid certification on BT/walkie
