Job Description

The Impact You'll Make

Design and repair of highway and interstate bridge projects from conception through completion

Perform structural engineering calculations and analyses throughout all project phases, from preliminary to final design

Develop comprehensive plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates

Provide construction support services, including responding to requests for information (RFIs) and reviewing shop drawings

Collaborate with project teams, interdisciplinary consultants, the Florida Department of Transportation, and external reviewers to ensure quality and accuracy

Mentor and develop junior engineering staff

Oversee project documentation and ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and scope requirements

Qualifications

The Expertise You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

8+ years of hands-on structural design experience

Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license

Proven experience in FDOT bridge design and plans production, including reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, post-tensioned substructures, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, noise walls, box culverts, and sign/signal structures

Advanced proficiency with structural design software such as Leap Bridge, MDX, FB Multi-Pier, CSI Bridge, LARSA, STAAD, Atlas, and FDOT Mathcad Structures Design Programs

Expert-level skills in structural drafting using MicroStation and OpenBridge Modeler

Preferred:

Track record of managing engineering projects with strong attention to budget, quality, scope, and stakeholder coordination

Specialized experience designing steel plate and box girder bridges
