Finance Officer

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records. Process payments, receipts, invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions. Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Assist with project budgets, budget monitoring, and expenditure tracking. Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and highlight significant variances. Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions. Support payroll, statutory payments, and other routine financial obligations. Assist with cash-flow management and financial forecasting. Support financial reporting for donor-funded projects. Review supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with financial policies. Assist with internal and external audits and provide requested financial documentation. Support procurement and vendor payment processes. Maintain financial filing systems and ensure appropriate document retention. Assist in strengthening financial controls, procedures, and reporting systems. Provide financial information and analysis to support management decision-making.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, finance, or financial administration. Professional accounting qualification or progress toward one, such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent, is an advantage. Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting or financial management software. Experience with project or donor-funded financial management is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
