Position Responsibilities:

Close Cycle Execution & Workflow Management

Fully Reconciled Financial Delivery: Oversees the preparation, performs a meticulous review, and ensures a timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including consolidated, multi-entity, and multi-department reporting, in compliance with US GAAP or accrual accounting standards.

Close Workbook Ownership: Enforces a workflow where all baseline team production is thoroughly taught, detail-reviewed, and validated by the manager. Delivers a completely reconciled, finalized close package to U.S. client leads that requires only a high-level, 15-to-30-minute final review.

Transactional Oversight: Supervises daily core accounting functions executed by the team, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing cycles.

Data Integrity: Manages chart of accounts structures, accounting treatments, and system configurations; resolves processing errors and manages systemic troubleshooting.

Agile Optimization: Owns the authority to implement localized workflow adjustments and daily automation to drive team efficiency; collaborates with senior leadership for input on major platform changes or large process redesigns.

Team Leadership & Technical Training

Primary Technical Resource: Serves as the definitive technical accounting authority for the immediate team; commits to ongoing learning of US GAAP and tech tools to actively teach, mentor, and upskill team members.

Accountability & Feedback: Sets clear performance expectations, monitors staff resource allocation, and provides regular performance coaching to maintain delivery standards.

Capacity Alignment: Partners with internal U.S. client leads to manage project progression, staffing capacity, and team performance metrics.

Compliance, Portfolio & Advisory Support

Controls & Compliance: Implements internal control frameworks, reviews control effectiveness, executes remediation plans, and manages the year-end U.S. 1099 compliance and filing process.

Financial Summaries: Translates complex financial results into clear narratives highlighting cash flow trends and working capital metrics to advise internal U.S. client leads and client stakeholders.

Scope & Retention Management: Aligns baseline financial infrastructure to support growing client businesses; tracks deliverables against contractual commitments to identify scope creep and protect client retention.

Responsibilities

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA, CMA, or CGMA preferred.

Experience: 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a shared services, BPO, or outsourced client accounting services (CAS) environment catering to U.S. clients.

Industry Focus: Experience handling accounting for e-commerce, digital retail, or inventory-based businesses preferred; hands-on experience with Shopify and A2X is highly desirable.

Leadership: Experience managing accounting operations and team performance at an Accounting Supervisor or Manager level.

Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including foundational revenue recognition and multi-entity environments.

Systems Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in financial systems (e.g., QBO, Xero, NetSuite, AI-native finance tools) and financial reporting applications.

Communication: Professional English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal U.S. client leads and stakeholders.

Success Metrics

  • On-time completion of close cycles and submission of fully reconciled financial packages.
  • Reduction of U.S. client lead review time to under 30 minutes due to the accuracy of submitted work.
  • Team performance metrics, including technical proficiency, error reduction, and staff retention.
  • Client retention and adherence to defined service level expectations.
  • Successful implementation of localized automation and process efficiencies.
