Senior Quality Engineer
Quality Planning & Standards Compliance -Develop and maintain quality control plans (QCP) for busway and panel production lines -Ensure full compliance with IEC 61439-6 (busbar trunking systems) and IEC 61439-1/2 (panels/assemblies) -Review technical drawings, BOMs, and datasheets for conformance before production release
Incoming & In-Process Inspection -Inspect raw materials (copper/aluminum bars, insulation, enclosures) against supplier specifications -Conduct in-process checks: busbar dimensions, joint torque, insulation resistance, alignment -Monitor critical parameters: Ipk ratings, short-circuit withstand (Icw), IP ratings, temperature rise
Final Testing & Type Tests -Coordinate routine tests: dielectric withstand, continuity, insulation resistance, functional tests -Support and witness type tests (thermal, IP, IK) with accredited labs when required -Prepare test reports and certificates of conformity for clients
Non-Conformance & Continuous Improvement -Lead root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for NCRs and customer complaints -Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with production and engineering teams -Track quality KPIs (defect rate, first-pass yield, customer returns) and report monthly
Documentation & Certification
- Maintain ISO 9001 QMS documentation and support internal/external audits
-Prepare inspection records and calibration schedules for test equipment (megger, torque wrench, thermal camera) -Support Asta / type-test certification renewal processes
Supplier & Customer Interface -Conduct supplier quality audits and evaluations -Handle customer quality complaints,-site inspections, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
Education: BSc in Electrical Power Engineering or related field
Experience: 3-5 years quality engineering in LV switchgear/busway/panel manufacturing
Standards: IEC 61439 (Parts 1, 2, 6), IEC 60439, ISO 9001
Certifications (preferred): ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt
Technical: Electrical schematics, busway sizing (Ipk, Icw), test equipment operation
Tools: MS Excel (advanced), SAP QM or similar (plus), AutoCAD (reading drawings)
Soft Skills: Attention to detail, root cause analysis, cross-functional communication
Language: Arabic (native), English (fluent, technical documentation)
