Wales International School (WIS) is a British curriculum school based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, regulated by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). We are looking for a motivated and skilled ICT teacher to join our secondary team, covering Year 7 to 13. The successful candidate will be able to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical ICT applications, preparing our students for the demands of the modern global economy.

Role: ICT teacher

Department: Secondary – ICT

Stage: Secondary (Year 7 – 13)

Curriculum: British (UK National Curriculum, IGCSE, A-Level, and BTEC)

Contract: Fixed term

Skills and qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in ICT, or a closely related field.

A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

Proven experience teaching ICT within a British curriculum setting.

Extensive experience in delivering BTEC qualifications is a major advantage and a primary focus for this role.

Confident knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for ICT across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

Ability to support students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, including EAL learners.

Highly proficient in using digital tools to support learning, specifically Google Classroom and Google Meet.

Key responsibilities

Plan and deliver stimulating lessons that ignite students' interest in the world of business, economics, and digital technology.

Lead the delivery of BTEC ICT units, ensuring all assessment and internal verification standards are met.

Foster critical thinking and analytical skills through project-based learning and real-world business case studies.

Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress and provide constructive feedback.

Collaborate with the department to ensure curriculum alignment and share innovative instructional resources.
