VISITOR SERVICES SPECIALIST

You will serve as a VISITOR SERVICES SPECIALIST in the MARINE CORPS of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.

Major duties

• You will directly support visitor needs, to include informational literature, regional information, special accessibility, greeting, public announcements, and special assistance.
• You will monitor daily operation and work to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
• You will stock and reorder rack cards, brochures, and other approved literature required for visitors.
• You will help to deliver new docent training, tour guide training, interpretive training, and monthly sustainment training.
• You will support a service culture which is swift, comprehensive, and effective.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing, preparing, and delivering tours for a spectrum of museum visitors that are focused on the museum programs, use exhibits and artifacts, and maintain the interest of an individual or groups with disparate learning styles and challenges in order to present the history and culture of the agency. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, coordinating, and conducting public tours and interpretive programs for diverse audiences; providing accurate information about organizational programs, history, and services; and responding to visitor inquiries. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience.
