What we’re looking for
We're looking for a highly driven Full Stack Software Engineer to own the software that lets our operators see, plan, and control missions: our Ground Control Station and the broader family of web applications built around it. In this role, you'll work across frontend, backend, and real-time systems, turning live telemetry, mission data, and fleet state into interfaces that are fast, reliable, and trustworthy under field conditions. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where you'll design, build, and iterate on software operators depend on during real flight tests and missions.
The day-to-day
Ground Control Station: design and build mission planning, live telemetry visualization, and vehicle command interfaces
Real-time pipelines: build low-latency, high-reliability data pipelines connecting the vehicle stack (MAVLink/ROS 2, video/sensor feeds) to the frontend
Operator UX: design intuitive, operator-facing interfaces for high-stakes, time-pressured environments where clarity beats polish
Backend architecture: architect and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases supporting multiple web apps and real-time streams
Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with autonomy and robotics engineers to define APIs and data contracts between vehicle and ground systems
Reliability engineering: ensure system resilience for degraded-connectivity and field-deployed environments, including offline-first behavior
You should apply if you
Frontend skills: you're proficient in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and a frontend framework, React preferred
Backend skills: you're proficient in a backend language such as Python, Rust, Node.js, or Go
API experience: you've designed and consumed REST/WebSocket/gRPC APIs and worked with real-time or streaming data
Linux comfort: you're comfortable in a Linux environment, including build systems, package management, and networking basics
Engineering mindset: you can take ambiguous requirements and turn them into a working, testable implementation
Education: you hold a degree in computer science or a related field – or equivalent hands-on experience that speaks louder than the diploma, with 2-6 years of experience
Nice to haves
Mapping tools: experience with Mapbox, Cesium, deck.gl, or similar for map-based visualization
Robotics protocols: experience with MAVLink, ROS 2/DDS, or autopilot stacks such as PX4 or ArduPilot
Real-time systems: experience with WebSockets, MQTT, or video streaming such as WebRTC/RTSP
