Job Description
Part 1: Service Technician – Job Scope
1.Maintenance & Repair
- Conductroutine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Diagnosemechanical, electrical, or software issues using diagnostic tools.
- Repairor replace faulty components and restore equipment to working condition.
- Documentall maintenance activities and parts used.
- optional:Network configuration, software updates, firmware installation.
2.Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Respondto service calls onsite or remotely.
- Identifyproblems quickly and apply effective solutions.
- Provideguidance to customers on proper usage and basic troubleshooting.
3.Customer Service & Communication
- Communicateclearly with clients about issues, timelines, and required actions.
- Maintainprofessionalism and positive relationships with customers.
- Providebasic product usage guideline when handing over repaired or new equipment.
4.Reporting & Documentation
- Prepareservice reports, checklists, and maintenance logs.
- Updateinternal systems with service records, parts inventory, and job status.
- Reportrecurring issues to supervisors or engineering teams for escalation.
5.Safety & Compliance
- Followworkplace safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Ensurecompliance with electrical, mechanical, or industry‑specific regulations.
- Useproper PPE, tools, and testing equipment.
6.Inventory & Tools Management
- Trackspare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Ensuretools are calibrated and in safe working condition.
- Requestparts replenishment when needed.
7.Team Collaboration
- Coordinatewith dispatch, vendor tech support team, and internal sales teams.
- Assistin improvement initiatives, product testing, or customer feedback loops.
Commissioning: Equipment Installation & Setup
- Install,configure devices or IT/AV systems, trolley stand
- Ensureproper calibration and alignment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Performinitial system checks and handover testing with customers after installation.
- Providetraining or demonstrations when handing over new equipment.
Part 2: AV Technician– Job Scope
Role Summary:
The AV Technician installs, configures,maintains, and supports audio-visual systems across meeting rooms, classrooms,training spaces, event venues, and digital signage environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission AVhardware including displays, projectors, LED walls, cameras, microphones,speakers, amplifiers, DSPs, switchers, and control processors.
- Provide Tier 1–2 support formeeting rooms including Teams Rooms / Zoom Rooms / Google Meet.
- Perform preventivemaintenance, firmware updates, inspections, and fault repairs.
- Support AV-over-IP, Dantenetworks, wireless presentation systems, and device connectivity.
- Maintain documentationincluding as-built drawings, IP maps, incident logs, and inventories.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Audio-VisualTechnology, Electronics, IT/Networking, or related field.
- 2+ years hands-on AV systemsexperience.
- Familiarity with Crestron,Extron, AMX, Q-SYS, Dante, and EDID/HDCP concepts.
Preferred Certifications:
- AVIXA CTS / CTS-I / CTS-D
- Dante Level 1/2/3
- Crestron, Extron, Q-SYSmanufacturer training
Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving anddiagnostics.
- Clear communication with endusers.
- Ability to work with IT,facilities, and vendors.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 20–25 kg,work at heights, handle onsite and multi-site support.
