Dairy Farm Assistant (SOC 9111)

Your tasks

Company John and Jonathan Loughrey is looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to assist with the daily activities of the dairy farm, including milking, feeding, cattle handling and maintenance of the farm facilities.

Carry out daily milking duties and assist with the operation and cleaning of milking equipment. Feed dairy cattle, monitor their condition and report any signs of illness or injury. Move and handle livestock safely, supporting routine herd management activities. Clean and maintain milking parlours, sheds, pens and other farm facilities. Assist with calving and the care of young livestock as required. Support general dairy farm operations, including basic equipment upkeep and farm maintenance. Follow farm health and safety procedures, hygiene standards and animal welfare practices.

Requirements

Job Requirements Practical experience in dairy farming, livestock handling or related agricultural work is an advantage. Ability to carry out physical farm duties and work as part of a team. Willingness to follow animal welfare, hygiene and health and safety procedures.

Annual Salary: €36,605 Hourly Rate: €18.05 Hours per Week: 39h Start date: 14/12/2026
