Accountabilities: The Software Build / Install Engineer will be responsible for designing and maintaining efficient software delivery infrastructure while supporting engineering teams with reliable automation and deployment solutions. Key responsibilities include:

Design, implement, and maintain scalable build systems and automated software delivery pipelines.

Develop and optimize installation processes across Linux, Windows, and macOS environments.

Automate software packaging, deployment, and release workflows to improve engineering efficiency.

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using modern tools and industry best practices.

Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to improve software reliability and delivery processes.

Troubleshoot complex build, installation, and deployment issues with strong analytical and debugging skills.

Support cloud-based application deployment using containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Improve build infrastructure architecture to support scalable, multi-tenant SaaS applications.

Create clear documentation and contribute to engineering standards, processes, and best practices.

Mentor and support team members by sharing technical knowledge and encouraging effective engineering practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive software engineering experience with strong expertise in build systems, automation, deployment technologies, and distributed application environments. Required qualifications and skills include:

10+ years of experience building and supporting large-scale distributed applications.

Strong experience developing and maintaining multi-tenant SaaS applications.

Proficiency with build tools such as CMake, Make, Gradle, Maven, or similar technologies.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms including Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

Strong scripting skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Experience with software packaging and installation tools such as InstallShield, NSIS, or WiX Toolset.

Solid understanding of operating systems including Linux, Windows, and macOS.

Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN and branching strategies.

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Understanding of microservices architectures and cloud-based design patterns.

Experience working with databases such as SQL Server or MySQL is a plus.

Familiarity with Java is considered an advantage.

Strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and experience working effectively in distributed teams.
