Accountabilities: As a Production Risk Engineer, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth through effective risk evaluation, underwriting excellence, and strong broker partnerships. You will leverage industry expertise, analytical judgment, and modern technology to improve risk selection, accelerate processes, and strengthen product performance.

Achieve and exceed underwriting performance and revenue objectives by applying risk analysis expertise, AI-assisted scoring, automation, and established underwriting guidelines.

Evaluate submissions, price accounts, and deliver competitive terms while maintaining strong underwriting discipline and business objectives.

Provide timely and thoughtful quote communication using technology-enabled tools to improve broker engagement and efficiency.

Analyze complex management liability and professional liability risks to identify exposures, opportunities, and appropriate coverage solutions.

Build and maintain trusted relationships with brokers by providing responsive guidance and valuable underwriting insights.

Manage the full submission and quote lifecycle, converting opportunities into successful new business partnerships.

Collaborate with underwriting, product, engineering, data, and operations teams to improve workflows, policies, pricing strategies, and customer outcomes.

Gather market feedback and competitive intelligence to influence product improvements, underwriting strategies, and future roadmap decisions.

Represent the organization at broker meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.

Use AI-driven tools to improve documentation, workflow efficiency, customer communication, and internal collaboration.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting processes within a rapidly evolving insurance technology environment.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced insurance professional with strong underwriting expertise, a commercial mindset, and the ability to build lasting relationships in the professional liability space. You should be comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, and contributing to a high-growth environment where processes are continuously evolving.

3–7 years of underwriting experience within management liability, professional liability, architects and engineers, or related specialty insurance products.

Experience working with brokers, carriers, underwriters, or clients within the professional liability insurance market.

Strong knowledge of specialty liability products, including rating procedures, policy forms, applications, and coverage endorsements.

Proven ability to develop profitable broker relationships and deliver exceptional account management.

Demonstrated success achieving and exceeding underwriting, sales, or portfolio performance goals.

Experience evaluating complex risks and making sound underwriting decisions.

Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently present recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment with changing priorities and evolving processes.

Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to experiment, adopt new technologies, and continuously improve.

Strong ownership, organization, and problem-solving skills with a bias toward action.

Ability to use AI tools and modern technology to improve productivity and business outcomes.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Flexibility to travel approximately once per month as needed.
