Why Hover wants you

Hover helps people design, improve, and protect the properties they love.

We're looking for a strategic and deeply curious Principal Product Analyst to join the team behind Hover's Property Intelligence product, supporting our Insurance vertical. This isn't a reactive support role — you'll be a core builder and thought partner embedded directly in the product "quad-pod" alongside Product, Engineering, and Design leadership, helping shape the direction of the product from the ground up.

We’re looking for a relentless problem solver who combines strong analytical and technical depth with strong product intuition. This role goes far beyond traditional dashboarding — you’ll help shape AI-powered insurance workflows, improve telemetry foundations, evaluate strategic product bets, and influence enterprise product adoption.

You’ll partner closely with product leaders, engineers, designers, GTM partners, and enterprise customers to define quality frameworks, measure business impact, and help evolve how analytics supports increasingly AI-native and agentic product experiences.

The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, enjoys 0→1 problem solving, and is excited by the opportunity to drive outsized impact across product strategy, experimentation, and analytics infrastructure.

Why This Team:

This role offers unusually broad scope and the opportunity to influence product direction, enterprise strategy, and analytics infrastructure simultaneously.

Hover’s Insurance business is at a critical growth stage, with expanding enterprise partnerships, ambitious product roadmaps, and increasing adoption of AI-powered workflows. The team is actively shaping 0→1 insurance workflows and redefining how AI-powered property intelligence products are evaluated, adopted, and scaled within enterprise environments.

You’ll work directly alongside Product, Engineering, Design, and GTM leadership while helping define:

what great product quality looks like,

how enterprise ROI is measured,

and how analytics evolves to support increasingly intelligent and non-deterministic product experiences.

This is a rare opportunity to:

influence product strategy,

shape next-generation analytics infrastructure,

partner with senior insurance leaders,

and help define how AI transforms real-world insurance workflows.

As Hover’s Insurance organization continues to scale, this role also offers meaningful growth opportunities into broader leadership or product ownership paths.

You will contribute by

Driving strategic analytics initiatives supporting Hover’s Insurance product portfolio

Partnering closely with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to define success metrics, design experiments, and evaluate product performance

Building frameworks that define and measure inspection quality, customer outcomes, and enterprise ROI

Leading end-to-end analytical projects — from problem framing and data exploration to storytelling and influencing strategic decisions

Driving experiment design and analysis for A/B tests and quasi-experimental studies

Improving telemetry and instrumentation foundations across Segment, Mixpanel, and internal analytics systems

Helping evolve product measurement approaches for AI-assisted and agentic workflows

Building a deep understanding of customer journeys and identifying opportunities to improve product adoption, retention, and user experience

Surfacing insights that influence roadmap prioritization and strategic product investments

Collaborating directly with enterprise insurance customers to evaluate adoption and product effectiveness

Creating scalable data frameworks that help stakeholders align around business and product outcomes

Helping elevate analytics maturity across the organization by improving self-serve analytics capabilities and championing data-informed decision making

Your background includes

7+ years of experience in Product Analytics, Data Science, Product Strategy, or related analytical product-focused roles

Expert-level SQL proficiency for complex analysis and data exploration

Experience with data tech stack and BI software

Strong product intuition and ability to synthesize ambiguous problems into actionable recommendations

Experience partnering deeply with Product and Engineering organizations to influence product direction

Experience designing and evaluating experiments using A/B testing or causal inference methodologies

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive audiences

Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional product environments with multiple competing priorities

Curiosity and practical experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate analysis, improve workflows, or uncover product insights

Nice-to-Haves

Python literacy and comfort working with analytical or experimentation workflows

Experience with our specific stack (Tableau, DBT, Snowflake, Hex)

Insurance, fintech, enterprise SaaS, or AI product experience

Experience evaluating AI-enabled or workflow automation products
