Recruitment of design representatives (structural/architectural/electrical/fire protection)

Working place: Cairo, Egypt (Egypt branch). Salary is negotiable based on project requirements and candidate experience.

Job responsibilities:

1. Review project design documentation for compliance with Egyptian local codes, ensuring architectural, structural, electrical and fire safety designs satisfy local regulatory requirements.
2. Complete official drawing endorsement, documentation submission and government approval procedures in line with local regulations.
3. Conduct technical communication and follow up approvals with Egyptian regulatory authorities, including Municipality and Civil Defense departments.
4. Resolve discrepancies between international design outputs and Egyptian local standards, and propose practical standard adaptation solutions.
5. Participate in drawing reviews, identify and resolve technical issues related to Egyptian building codes.
6. Monitor updates to Egyptian building, fire and electrical standards, and share updates with the design team promptly.
7. Support site teams to resolve localized technical matters including design variations and drawing clarifications.

Requirements:

1. Must hold valid registration and practicing seal issued by the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers. This official registration is a statutory requirement to conduct engineering design services and complete official drawing endorsement in Egypt.
2. Language skills: Proficient in Arabic; capable of technical reading, writing and communication in English. Chinese language capability is advantageous.
3. Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering or related disciplines.
4. Professional experience: Minimum 8 years engineering design experience, including at least 5 years experience delivering engineering design projects within Egypt. Candidates with experience in chemical / industrial building design and cooperation with international engineering firms will be given priority.
5. Additional requirements:

• Familiar with Egypt building permit approval procedures and official communication with local government authorities;
• Able to compare and convert between international standards (BS, ASTM, IEC etc.) and Egyptian local codes;
• Prior experience supporting Chinese enterprises or international EPC projects is preferred.
