Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Patient Care Models Group (PCMG). As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will serve as Deputy Director of PCMG with responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing the design, development, analyses, and implementation of complex Medicare Fee-for-Service payment models and programs.

Major duties

• Serve as full Deputy to the PCMG Director and exercises supervisory authority over the PCMG staff in conjunction with the PCMG Director.
• Develop and manage complex Medicare FFS payment models and programs that test innovative payment and service delivery approaches to examine implications for Medicare policy and regulations.
• Provide subject matter expertise and reviews proposed policies or changes in operations to assess the impact on current and future program decisions.
• Lead the development of new specialized medical payment and delivery models and programs, including developing quality improvement strategies, preparing complex provider agreements, and planning for operational readiness.
• Serve as the principal advisor to the PCMG Director on requirements and issues associated with prevention and population health, utilizing subject matter expertise.
