Specialist Emergency Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled specialist emergency medicine physician to join our emergency department in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment of patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening medical emergencies. The physician will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based emergency care in accordance with DHA regulations and international clinical standards.
Key responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, stabilize, and manage patients presenting with medical, surgical, pediatric, trauma, and other emergency conditions.
Perform rapid triage and prioritize patients based on clinical urgency.
Manage critically ill and injured patients requiring immediate intervention and advanced life support.
Perform emergency procedures including airway management, endotracheal intubation, central venous catheterization, arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion, procedural sedation, wound management, fracture reduction and splinting, and point-of-care ultrasound where credentialed.
Interpret laboratory investigations, ECGs, and diagnostic imaging to facilitate timely clinical decisions.
Coordinate admissions, referrals, transfers, and consultations with relevant specialties.
Participate in trauma activations, cardiac arrest responses, disaster preparedness, and mass casualty management.
Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive electronic medical records.
Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, patient safety, and infection control programs.
Supervise junior physicians and contribute to education, mentoring, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.
Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, hospital policies, and international emergency medicine guidelines.
Requirements
MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Postgraduate qualification in emergency medicine (Arab Board, MD, MRCP with emergency medicine training, CCT, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, Australian Fellowship, or equivalent recognized qualification).
Valid DHA license or DHA eligibility letter as a specialist emergency medicine, or eligibility to obtain one.
International board certification is preferred.
