We are currently seeking a *reliable, energetic, and team-oriented Dishwasher / Busser* to join our Culinary Services team. This position plays an important role in ensuring our dining room and kitchen operate efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and resident satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine enjoyment of working with seniors in a friendly, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

*Dishwashing & Kitchen Cleanliness*

• Operate and maintain our commercial dishwashing equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing stations, kitchen areas, and associated equipment.
• Complete routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and removing waste.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and assist with additional kitchen and dining room cleaning requirements.

*Dining Room Support & Resident Interaction*

• Clear and reset dining tables efficiently while maintaining a welcoming and comfortable dining atmosphere.
• Engage with residents in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner, helping create a positive dining experience.
• Respond courteously to resident requests and communicate needs or concerns to appropriate team members.
• Work collaboratively with servers, cooks, and other departments to support smooth and efficient meal services.

*Health, Safety & Chemical Compliance*

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention and control procedures.
• Safely handle, store, and use cleaning products and chemicals in accordance with WHMIS and workplace safety requirements.
• Complete required chemical concentration testing, including dishwasher sanitization and cleaning solution testing, as applicable.
• Maintain accurate testing records and promptly report any equipment or chemical compliance concerns.
• Follow all established health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for residents and team members.

*General Responsibilities*

• Demonstrate a willingness to assist team members wherever needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Treat residents, visitors, and fellow team members with kindness, dignity, and respect.
• Participate in required training and ongoing workplace education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary leadership team.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in dishwashing, food service, hospitality, or a retirement living environment is an asset but not required.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
• Friendly, approachable personality with a genuine interest in interacting with seniors.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn commercial dishwashing procedures, chemical testing, and food safety requirements.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical duties, including lifting, bending, and carrying items safely.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
