Biology Lab Specialist

Efficiently carry out the tasks of preparing experiments of assigned lab courses and provides direct technical support to peers and teaching assistants in the educational laboratories. Responsibilities :

• Prepare experiment materials and lab settings for several lab courses.
• Assist in the planning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of any problems that may arise with the equipment.
• Carries out risk assessments as appropriate and ensures all lab-based teaching activities are carried out in accordance with the biomedical sciences lab safety regulations.
• Disposal of laboratory wastes including sharps, chemicals, and biological wastes, in accordance with the safety requirements.
• Flexible with other duties as requested by the biology lab manager.

Ability to handle animals and operate different laboratory equipment (Microscopes, ELIZA plate reader, Thermal Cycler, Gel Electrophoresis, Centrifuges …etc.).

Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and precautions.

Bachelor's degree in science or relevant discipline; Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, DDD, or a related field.

English and Arabic Proficiency.

Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, with high-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and follow oral and written instructions.

Able to work with a minimum level of supervision.

Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information.
