QUARTER MASTER

Acts as Helmsman & undertakes watch keeping duties. Assists in implementing navigation procedures during: entering/leaving port station, anchoring & watchkeeping. Assists in maintaining cleanliness and general hygiene of the ship. Undertakes paint work, if necessary. Supports management of crew by providing training to deck cadets. Assists in the proper maintenance of deck department. Reports to the Master or other senior officers any unsafe conditions and damages to vessel. Assists in checking the conditions of all deck equipment, watertight doors, winches, chain lockers, stores, gangway, and all running gears on board. Performs other duties as may be assigned by Master and Superior officers.
