Main duties

  • Daily operation, safe start-up, shutdown and supervision of ski lifts
  • Safe operation of T-bar ski lifts and assisting customers when boarding and leaving the lift
  • Ensuring customer safety in lift areas and providing safety instructions
  • Professional operation of snowmaking systems and snow guns during the snowmaking season
  • Monitoring, relocating, setting up and carrying out basic maintenance of snowmaking equipment
  • Daily inspection and maintenance of ski slopes, lift stations and customer areas
  • Carrying out maintenance, repair and upkeep tasks throughout the ski resort
  • Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of outdoor areas, walkways and working environments
  • Providing customer service and assisting visitors at the ski resort
  • Carrying out other duties assigned by the employer that are consistent with the position

Requirements

We are looking for a person who:

  • Has a responsible attitude towards safety and safe working practices
  • Is physically fit and willing to work outdoors in varying winter conditions
  • Has good customer service and teamwork skills
  • Is self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Has basic mechanical skills and is able to safely use common hand tools
  • Has basic English language skills for customer service situations
  • Holds a valid Category B driving licence

Assets

  • Previous experience working at a ski resort or winter sports centre
  • Experience operating or supervising ski lifts
  • Experience with snowmaking systems and snow guns
  • Technical education or previous experience in mechanical, maintenance or engineering work
  • Good mechanical skills and experience in maintenance and repair work
  • Experience operating snowmobiles
  • A valid Emergency First Aid or equivalent certificate
  • Additional language skills
