Procurement Manager

Job Purpose: Lead procurement activities for construction projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services while maintaining required quality and commercial standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project procurement strategies and plans.
- Lead procurement of construction materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services.
- Identify, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage RFQs, technical/commercial evaluations, negotiations, and purchase orders.
- Negotiate competitive prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions.
- Ensure materials and equipment are delivered according to project requirements and schedule.
- Coordinate closely with Project Management, Estimation, Engineering, Commercial, and Finance teams.
- Monitor supplier/subcontractor performance and resolve procurement issues.
- Manage procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain supplier databases and develop strategic supplier relationships.
- Monitor market prices, availability, lead times, and supply-chain risks.
- Lead and develop the procurement team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
- 15+ years of procurement experience in construction.
- Proven experience managing procurement for major construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, subcontracting, and supplier markets.
- Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.
- Strong understanding of procurement contracts and terms.
- Experience with ERP/procurement systems is preferred.
- Strong leadership and supplier-management capabilities.
