Job Purpose: Lead procurement activities for construction projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services while maintaining required quality and commercial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project procurement strategies and plans.
  • Lead procurement of construction materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Manage RFQs, technical/commercial evaluations, negotiations, and purchase orders.
  • Negotiate competitive prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are delivered according to project requirements and schedule.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Management, Estimation, Engineering, Commercial, and Finance teams.
  • Monitor supplier/subcontractor performance and resolve procurement issues.
  • Manage procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain supplier databases and develop strategic supplier relationships.
  • Monitor market prices, availability, lead times, and supply-chain risks.
  • Lead and develop the procurement team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 15+ years of procurement experience in construction.
  • Proven experience managing procurement for major construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, subcontracting, and supplier markets.
  • Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.
  • Strong understanding of procurement contracts and terms.
  • Experience with ERP/procurement systems is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and supplier-management capabilities.
