M&E Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced M&E Supervisor to supervise and coordinate mechanical and electrical works for a major hospital development project in Singapore. The successful candidate will oversee daily M&E site activities, coordinate with subcontractors and site teams, and ensure that installation works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily M&E works at the project site.
• Monitor the installation of mechanical, electrical and building services systems.
• Read and interpret M&E drawings, shop drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Coordinate with M&E Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and other site teams to ensure smooth work execution.
• Supervise M&E subcontractors and workers to ensure proper work sequencing and productivity.
• Monitor manpower, materials, equipment and work activities at the assigned work areas.
• Conduct regular site inspections to check workmanship, installation quality and compliance with approved drawings.
• Coordinate M&E works with structural, architectural and other construction activities to avoid clashes and delays.
• Identify site issues, discrepancies and coordination problems and report them to the M&E Engineer or Manager.
• Assist in resolving technical and site coordination issues.
• Monitor the progress of M&E installation works and provide regular updates to the M&E Engineer/Manager.
• Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are properly stored and available for planned works.
• Assist with inspection, testing and commissioning activities for M&E systems.
• Ensure completed works are properly inspected and rectified before handover.
• Maintain daily site records, inspection records, progress updates and other required documentation.
• Ensure M&E works comply with project safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Monitor housekeeping and safe working practices within M&E work areas.
• Coordinate with relevant trades and subcontractors during testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Perform other M&E site supervision duties as assigned by the M&E Manager.

Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in M&E construction or building services works.
• Experience in hospital or healthcare projects is preferred.
• Practical experience in supervising M&E installation works on large-scale building projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, ACMV, plumbing & sanitary, fire protection and other building services works.
• Ability to read and understand M&E drawings, shop drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction practices, safety requirements and relevant codes and standards.
• Experience in coordinating M&E subcontractors and site workers.
• Good understanding of site inspection, quality control and testing/commissioning requirements.
• Able to identify site coordination issues and work with engineers and subcontractors to resolve them.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Relevant safety certifications or M&E-related qualifications will be an advantage.
