Quality Assurance Engineer - Automation

ON’s patented AI UPS™ is a medium-voltage UPS that serves as a firewall, protecting the data center from the grid, and the grid from the data center. With multiple gigawatts currently under construction, we are enabling grid-safe data centers.

Job Summary

We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong Python skills and hands-on experience in UI automation (Playwright, Selenium) to design, build, and maintain automated test suites. You'll work closely with developers and product teams to ensure high-quality releases through a mix of automated and manual testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated UI test scripts using Playwright and/or Selenium with Python

Build and maintain a scalable test automation framework (Page Object Model or similar design patterns)

Perform API testing (using Postman, requests library, or REST Assured) to validate backend functionality

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)

Identify, log, and track defects through resolution using tools like JIRA

Analyze test results, debug failures, and maintain test stability (handling flaky tests, waits, synchronization issues)

Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand requirements and define test strategy/coverage

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)

Maintain test documentation — test plans, test cases, and automation coverage reports

Contribute to code reviews of test scripts and automation framework improvements

Required Skills & Qualifications

3–5 years of QA experience with a strong focus on automation

Proficient in Python for test scripting

Hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium WebDriver

Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies (manual + automated)

Experience with test management/bug tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr)

Familiarity with version control and CI/CD pipelines

Experience with API testing tools/libraries (Postman, requests, REST Assured)

Strong understanding of test design techniques (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, etc.)

Good analytical, debugging, and communication skills

Preferred/Nice-to-Have

Experience with pytest or unittest frameworks

Exposure to Docker/containerized test environments

Experience with BDD frameworks (Behave, pytest-bdd, Cucumber)

ISTQB certification

Basic SQL/database validations
