QUANTITY: 1 JOB TYPE: CONTRACT Job Information Field Detail Job Title Workshop Engineer Organization MAC Engineering Location Obuasi-KMS Job Type Contract Skill Type High-Skilled Duration of the Contract 1 year-Subject to Renewal Performance Criteria Main Purpose (Role): A Workshop Engineer – Fabrication and Construction is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing fabrication, welding, and construction activities to ensure the safe, timely, and quality delivery of engineering projects and maintenance works. Key Performance Area’s (Responsibilities): Supervise fabrication and construction works in the workshop and on-site. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications for fabrication works. Design and prepare fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or other engineering design software. Review, interpret, and modify technical drawings and blueprints for fabrication and construction works. Plan and coordinate cutting, welding, fitting, machining, and assembly activities. Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available for scheduled jobs. Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with project timelines and quality standards.Conduct inspections on fabricated structures and components to ensure dimensional accuracy and structural integrity.Ensure welding procedures and fabrication processes comply with engineering standards and safety regulations. Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Engineering, or related field. Essential / Advantageous Essential MINCOM certification is highly desirable. Essential Technical Competencies Strong knowledge of metal fabrication, structural steel works, and welding processes.Ability to read, interpret, and develop engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication layouts.Proficient in designing and drafting using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.Knowledge of construction methods, piping systems, and structural assembly.Familiarity with welding inspection and quality control procedures.Proficient in workshop planning, material estimation, and job costing.Good understanding of safety standards in fabrication and construction environments. Memberships Professional Membership Required Essential / Advantageous Registered with a recognized professional engineering body such as GHIE or equivalent. Advantageous Experience Job Related Experience Required Time Span Essential / Advantageous Minimum of 3-5 years, in workshop fabrication, construction, or heavy industrial operations.
