Accountabilities: The Inuit Engagement Coordinator will support Indigenous engagement initiatives by building relationships, coordinating programs, and helping increase access to mental health resources for Inuit and broader Indigenous communities.

Support volunteers involved in Indigenous engagement programs through onboarding, training, regular check-ins, and ongoing guidance.

Coordinate wellness program sessions, including scheduling, participant communication, and ensuring communities receive required materials and resources.

Support outreach activities that increase awareness and accessibility of mental health services among Indigenous youth and communities.

Build and maintain relationships with Inuit communities, organizations, partners, and other stakeholders.

Assist communities seeking to improve access to youth support resources and engagement opportunities.

Contribute to Indigenous advocacy initiatives, committees, and organizational efforts focused on inclusion and reconciliation.

Identify potential Indigenous partners, vendors, and trainers to support community-focused programs and initiatives.

Participate in program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement activities.

Support volunteer recruitment, events, meetings, and engagement activities.

Bring Inuit perspectives and cultural knowledge into program design, implementation, and service improvements.

Maintain a safe, respectful, and confidential environment when supporting youth and community members.

Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings Inuit cultural knowledge, community engagement experience, and strong coordination skills to support impactful youth-focused programs.

Experience working with Inuit communities, Indigenous youth, Elders, and community partners.

Strong understanding of Indigenous Peoples, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit histories, cultures, and ways of knowing.

Inuit applicants are preferred, and candidates from Inuit communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Ability to communicate in Inuktitut is considered an asset.

Preference for candidates residing in Inuit regions such as Inuvialuit, Nunavut, Nunavik, or Nunatsiavut.

Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field such as public health, social work, education, applied social sciences, or communications.

Approximately two years of experience supporting youth volunteers or community-based initiatives.

Experience coordinating projects, managing deadlines, and working effectively in resource-conscious environments.

Strong professionalism, confidentiality, and commitment to creating safe spaces for youth.

Excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and digital collaboration platforms.

Demonstrated commitment to volunteerism, nonprofit organizations, mental health, or community support services.

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
