Project Control Engineer

About the company

DAR Engineering, a leading design and engineering consulting organization in Saudi Arabia engaged in power generation, electrical transmission and distribution, health care and high rise buildings.

Your tasks

Oversee and manage costs associated with projects to ensure they stay within the allocated budget and financial guidelines.

Project cost estimation & budgeting

• Create project cost structures/breakdowns (tender budget) on SAP to ensure the implementation of cost control procedures.
• Analyze project requirements and prepare the detailed estimate to complete.
• Reconcile/analyze project budget revisions closely with the finance department, increasingly in a consultancy role for verification of estimates (actual cost, plan POC, actual POC, etc.).

Cost monitoring & control

• Monitor and track project costs to ensure they align with the budget.
• Identify and report potential cost overruns in a timely manner and use forecasting tools to anticipate future expenditures.
• Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to maximize project profitability.

Forecasting & financial reporting

• Create and maintain updated detailed project cashflows and forecast reports based on trend analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analyze project cost reports and establish reporting frequency on project-to-project stakeholders based on the criticality of deliverables on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Dashboards & reporting

• Coordinate with other departments for the accuracy and development of dashboard reports.

Delivery

• Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
• Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

Problem-solving

• Solve any related problems that arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

Quality

• Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

Business process improvements

• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance

• Comply with related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Health, safety, and environment

• Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
